Human Draw

While artificial intelligence handles the production of real art, research suggests that humans still benefit from the primitive act of drawing.

Human Draw has therefore been carefully simplified for the human mind. No prompts, no infinite canvas, and no unnecessary choices. Just a few tools, a few restrictions, and the opportunity to make something imperfect all by yourself.

I made Human Draw because conventional drawing software overwhelms me with choices, while AI has made me less motivated to create at all. Its restrictions are designed to reduce decisions, resist perfectionism, and make drawing enjoyable again.

Strict 1-bit drawing. Every pixel has only two possible states. This should be sufficient.

Choose from sixteen pre-approved colors and a small selection of preset brushes. Sliders have been removed for your safety.

Dithering allows two colors to impersonate several. Humans generally accept the illusion.

Create low-resolution canvases, resize them, and use optional linear or isometric grids for visual guidance. The grids will not interfere with your free will.

Select, move, squash, stretch, scale, and rotate your pixels until the mistake appears intentional.

Create primitive frame-based animations with onion skinning, adjustable playback speed, and automatic looping.

Trace Mode makes the application transparent, allowing humans to copy visible objects with improved confidence.

Undo and redo are included. Human error was anticipated.

Save complete projects as .ugly files, then export your work as PNG images, sprite sheets, or endlessly looping GIFs.

The human-compatible interface includes multiple 16-color themes, keyboard shortcuts, and both English and Potato language support.
